Service area covers NW Ohio and SE Michigan within a one-hour radius from Toledo, Ohio.
for birth & beyond
Licensed massage therapist, Birth Doula, and midwife's assistant.
I specialize in pregnancy, birth, and postpartum services (Massage Therapy, Doula services, placenta encapsulation and prints, belly casting and blessing way ceremonies). I am now pursuing a Midwifery degree at the Midwives College of Utah and I am an apprentice midwife with Trillium Birth Services in Ypsilanti, and you may also find me assisting other midwives in SE Michigan. I am also a Registered Cardiac Sonographer and I have had the distinct pleasure of working as a professor in the Cardiovascular program at Mercy College.
I have worked happily and steadily offering my services to help people function at their personal best since receiving my massage license in 2001. I specialize in pain relief using several styles of therapeutic massage. Postural analysis and chronic pain relief are core parts of my massage practice. I offer my services to people of ALL ages; however, a driving passion of mine has always been women's health. I am committed to assist and support women in all phases of their lives to feel empowered, gain knowledge, confidence, and trust in their decisions.
In 2006, I founded and maintained Kneading Time Holistic Therapy Center in Sylvania, Ohio. Together with many of our area’s practitioners, we presented a multi-disciplinary practice that offered nutrition counseling, energy healing, hypnosis, massage therapy, and many educational classes and workshops. One of the most popular services was the monthly 'complimentary' education and healing-share event which have continued in the area to this day. Unfortunately, the center closed in 2009 but within the next 5-10 years, I intend to re-establish a wellness center focusing on midwifery and holistic practices for all ages and phases of life.
My Philosophy Of Care
I believe in the power of intention, the healing power of touch, and that we all possess the innate ability to heal ourselves; sometimes we just need a little guidance. I am committed to helping clients regain and maintain a sense of well-being by providing space (physically, emotionally) where they can take a break from life's stresses and reconnect with self. I offer this within a comfortable and safe environment which allows and encourages self-reflection and self-appreciation. My primary goal is to provide and encourage a relaxing experience that re-establishes the mind-body connection. My intention is to focus entirely on the individual during their session in order to facilitate the body's natural ability for self-healing; this work is often intuitively guided but also relies on good therapist-client communication throughout the session. In a session with me, we may assess your overall lifestyle, factors that contribute to any ongoing stress or postural issues so I can offer you focused pain relief, stress reduction, and healing. I feel the best way to educate clients is through communication. There will always be room for discussion - before, during, and after each session.
