Crafts & Activities

Join us for recycling and nature based crafts (see pics below) and planned activities (see list below) during the Natural Living Festival. Saturday, August 4th 10am-5pm at the Agnes Reynolds Jackson Arboretum in Toledo's Old West End.


There will be a special fenced in area where children can safely play and run (with parent supervision) sponsored by the Collingwood Presbyterian Church. There will be free water and fruit provided to children by our sponsor UFCW Local 75
T-shirt Recycling: Bring your your beloved, but no longer worn t-shirts into bags, scarfs, bracelets, and wall art
Nature Cuffs: Recycle paper rolls and use the beauty of nature to create bracelets with NATURE POWER! 
Prayer Flag Project: Make a prayer flag to be hung up collectively throughout the arboretum as a symbol of Unity!
Ribbon Wishes: hang beautiful strands of ribbon and make a wish. Create art and magic at the same time!
These crafting stations are included in the Natural Living Festival. all materials are recycled and donated. **Please BRING YOUR OWN SHIRTS. 

T-Shirt Upcycling

Bring your favorite shirts that you no longer wear and recycle/upcycle them into wearable scarfs, bracelets and tote bags or frame them to hang on your wall

-making new space in your dresser drawers.

Nature Cuffs

Wearable art using recycled toilet paper rolls and nature.

These are adorable and you can bet that everyone will be adorned with nature cuffs. 

Tree Ribbon Art

Bring your scraps of ribbon and we will create delightful, playful art which will hang from the trees in the arboretum.

Prayer Flags

An interactive symbol of UNITY. We invite you to co-create in our "prayer flag project". Your individually created flag will be strung together with others. These will be hung throughout the arboretum as a symbol of unity. We will preserve the flags and add to this project each year. 

*Draw pictures, write words of affirmation, peace, hope or memorials of loved ones. The energy of your messages will be released into the air with the breeze.

Basic Yoga Flow paired with Tibetan Singing Bowls

offered by Phoebe Sloan and Jen Bak -Yoga mats helpful but not required. No experience needed.

10:30am The Big Latch On       Sarah and I are co-hosts for this community-building event held every August, to celebrate World Breastfeeding Week. Globally it is coordinated by Joanne Edwards IBCLC of Small Beginnings Group LLC. Toledo is now representing! Show up Sat Aug 4th tp participate. The nationwide "Latch On" will occur at  10:30am.
